More on topic, did the enemies of the US really gain anything by learning of the existence of PRISM? I thought any enemy with an IQ above room temperature would assume the US has a massive spy agency who can monitor communications anyway.

Even if our enemies did learn something new, there's not much they can do. The NSA is extremely good at monitoring communications in general. Their capabilities are pretty much unrivalled, though actually analyzing the data they get can be a problem-- there's just so much data flowing in.
