People are now changing back because the Xbox is finally the exact same as the PS4! Except the PS4 has better hardware and is cheaper!
People are insane, and for those of us who didn't mind the 24 hour check-in have now lost the ability to digitally, via the cloud scroll through our close friends game library's and also need to have the discs in the trays again to play them!
I swear, I hope that all the kids that complained about the changes causing this flip-flop by MS have there discs stolen, broken or lost. Then lets hear them whine about what could have been!

Call people complainers and kids all you want but as consumers it;s our right to speak up to remove the terrible DRM. It was a bad idea. I don't care about cloud and having my games held hostage by 24 hour DRM. I plan to play my games for years to come, not at the whim of a few years before MS decides to shut servers off. All the people mad about DRM complaining about not having cloud doesn't make sense. Cloud is still there. And does the console still play games? Yep, even better than it could now. Thats all that matters. It can now play games with no crap attached and this is wonderful. People act like a game disc is such a burden to put in the disc tray and I find this hilarious lol. People willing to give their rights away as a consumer for being more lazy.

Server lists means a superior multiplayer.
-
This may just be the single greatest aspect of the Xbox 180. We will have to see how it manifests itself and if sony will try to anything of of its own like this.
-
Simple...I don't like digital only. I like owning the game I buy without restrictions on my console. If there was DRM you know what I'd do? If I didn't get the PS4 I would get a gaming pc and now that there are budget gaming pcs that are about just as powerful, customizable, and cost just about the same i'd get a PC before I get a console with DRM. DRM was shit and just stupid
-
Let me ask, have you got a lot of disc based games at home for the 360? Because i do, and im pretty my 360 won't last very long gathering dust (they don't last very long anyway). So not long after the next gen hits, all of my games will become just useless pieces of plastic. Now imagine if the DRM policies had been implemented this generation, I would be able to download ALL of my games to my Xbox 1 any time i wanted. But no instead, soon enough the only games i will be able to re-visit from this gen are the ones i downloaded DIGITALLY. I have a fairly decent gaming PC too but i rarely play games on it because im a social gamer and all my friends and family game on consoles. If everyone i know gamed on PC's i would too.

I have a mix of disc-based games and downloaded games for my PS3. I switched to PS3 after my 360 broke. I like discs and will still use my PS3 for the great games I do have. DRM on consoles take away that convenience and just is stupid on consoles. Just buy all your games digitally than if you want DRM but for me? I like discs and will keep them without no restrictions on how I play them or any of my friends who want to play them.
-
Can you not see the positives of digital over disc based? Not to say that discs don't have their benefits because they do, but over time and as things age and change, the benefits of digital are much greater and much more convenient than discs! You will have the ability to play your digital games forever, on whatever future console we have then. Your discs will become obsolete, just like the system running them. In this sense discs have inherently more 'restrictions' than digital.
-
Nope, can't you see we aren't there yet! I mean really in the future digital can be VERY convenient but you do realize that there are restrictions. Like on 360 do you see all classic xbc games on there? On PS3 do you see all PS2 and PS1 titles on there? No and discs will still be in favor for me. You know why? If I make a bad purchase I like to do with it how I want including either give it to a friend or sell it. Be quiet with all your DRM BS that obviously serves no purpose with the tech that is available. PC would be the way to go if consoles had DRM.
Nope, can't you see we aren't there yet! you mean you aren't there yet?!? This blanket statement certainly doesn't apply to everyone I mean really in the future digital can be VERY convenient but you do realize that there are restrictions. So you do see the positives!?!? Like on 360 do you see all classic xbc games on there? On PS3 do you see all PS2 and PS1 titles on there? No and discs will still be in favor for me. some games aren't available, besides lending and re-selling this is the only 'restriction' you could think of You know why? If I make a bad purchase I like to do with it how I want including either give it to a friend or sell it. yeah, well I and many others like to keep games Be quiet with all your DRM BS that obviously serves no purpose with the tech that is available. this sentence is firstly childish and then goes on to just confuse me! PC would be the way to go if consoles had DRM. pure opinion, and I already told you why I prefer the console gaming, but whatever!
I have responded in bold above and at this point I'm pretty much done "discussing" this topic with you. The only point for discs you could make was lending and re-selling which I agree is highly convenient at times and for certain individuals, it certainly doesn't trump digital for everyone though. And weren't Microsoft planning a means in which people could still do these things digitally to a certain degree??
-
Wow, childish? The tech is not there yet. Not everyone has fast internet for digital only. Also PC is the way to go cause you know why? No console transition just keep upgrading a PC.

Better hardware? Barely. Cheaper? Kinect is bundled in, and that is worth $100.
-
The difference in hardware is almost non-existent. And honestly I think Kinect is worth that 100 bucks. Now that it's universal, devs will probably use it more. Don't think that Kinect 2.0 isn't different from what we have now. Family Share turned out to be a dud (15 minute demos were all you could use), you can still get all your games via the cloud if you download them from Marketplace instead of buying a copy.
-
That 15 minute demo thing was not an actual Microsoft employee and was probably the work of a dedicated ps4 fanboy. This was obvious to me from the beginning as it was easy to tell given the language used. Microsoft stated that the Family sharing was as described.
-
Yeah... This was posted before it got de-bunked.
-
Same here, man. Same here.
-
There is no more 24 hour check in, and I'm pretty sure Sony kids will get upset if their disk is broken too.
-
Yes but on the old system we wouldn't need disks once the game is installed! We would even not need the game on our hard-drive. We would have been able to play it from anywhere via the cloud forever as long as we were online within a 24 hour period! Not anymore!
-
I don't think it was the complaining alone, I think preorder sales would have had something to do with it as well.
-
I'm sure your right! I blame MS just as much, they seem incapable of informing people of the positives they had to offer!
-
That, and personally I think they handled the innovation wrong. I think if they kept everything about the CD's the same, but added stuff strictly to the digital side (Like if you buy a a game on XBL, then you can share it via family sharing and stuff), it would have had a more positive reaction.
-
Yeah that would have been cool, then people would have slowly by surely seen all the positives being offered with digital over disc based.
