No. If you want the perverted 12 year old's version of Destiny, maybe. How about an author that can write mature literature without any of the unnecessary nonsense from Game of Thrones?
-
It isn't immature just because it has sex in it. Frankly, there is a real problem with our culture teaching us to fear sex. And the entire genre of shooters is predicated upon the childish power fantasy anyway.
-
It's not about "fearing sex" it's about respecting it for it's purpose. The problem with our culture is that just because time passes people feel we need to throw our morals to the wind because following them just isn't fun anymore.
-
It's based on a period of time where there was very few morals, and it contrasts the honor (that you are trying so valiantly to display) with the hideousness that humans can display.
-
I'm not going to deny the accuracy you mention, however those books weren't written back then. I also won't deny that George R.R. Martin can write plot twists like none other. However the point remains, the same actions described in detail within the books and awfully in the show could have been implied rather than shown/described and the books/show would still be considered incredible by many.
-
The way he described the purpose in an interview is that it's a source of drive for some people. Sex exists and the way it is depicted is accurate for the time period. Its not something to be feared as it's a staple of life. According to George, it's part of the story, and without it the story is incomplete.

Edited by gooey: 6/18/2013 1:37:19 AMI believe it wouldn't be as good. I think that what makes the books in A Song Of Ice And Fire so amazing is the contrast.

You are always entitled to your opinion, of course.

And you to your opinion. Thanks, this conversation was stimulating.
