Except, teachers tend to join unions before getting a job anyways. Teachers tend to do a good job, but then there's the ones that the media exaggerate over.
-
And then they politicize everything trying to get the kids to agree with them and think a certain way
-
Except, that's not the case. Were that the case, then every single student would be liberal leaning because teacher unions are usually more leftist than rightists. Most teacher unions look out for the teachers and students. They push for more money to be put into education not only to help themselves, but the students as well. That's why there's more of a push for less college tuition, but more classes nowadays. That's also the reason why teachers are looking more for books to be kept in class rather than making a student buy the book or making the student rent it out. Just because a teacher is in a union doesn't mean that they'll be pushing their political ideology towards the students. When I went to high school, my teachers were pretty damn neutral on all the subjects, even my political science teacher.
That's a load of crap. If that was true then why do we have YouTube vids of teachers telling kids that they should vote for Obama than Romney and if the kids talk bad about Obama then the kid gets yelled at. They are the most paid teachers in the state yet they still unionize and strike so they can get more money at the students cost. They haven't strikes to get better books or supplies but so they can get more money
Just because a teacher is in a union doesn't mean that they'll be pushing their political ideology towards the students. I can tell you a teacher who surrounded his class with anticapitlism, anti republican bullcrap. I didn't learn anything about English, but I can tell you why Walmart is evil, why advertisements are stupid, and why republicans are evil
I'll be the first to tell you this, but Youtube is not a great source to use. Besides, high school kids can't vote, so telling them to vote for either candidate of their choice will yield nothing to the teacher or the students other than a reprimand from the superintendent if that teacher is lucky. Must be just California then, since there was a BIG push for less costs for education and more classes as a proposition. And that proposition passed as well. One of the main supporters of that proposition passing (Proposition 30) was the California Teachers Association.
Not all teachers are like that. Teachers aren't supposed to do that.
