Hey guys,
After watching DestinyUpdates' new video "Destiny News - New Guns, Alternate E3 Trailer, Planets", and seeing the planets rotate/"move" around the solar system, I came up with the following idea:
If possible, wouldn't it be awesome if they implemented a "Planetary Alignment Event"? If the planets are on a constant rotation, they could have all of the planets become aligned "once every blue moon"(cwatididthere). This would have to be extremely rare and happen at least once every 2-3 months. When this event happens, there could be a giant public event (like the one in the E3 stage demo) with an epic boss battle where the boss would be something we have never seen before and would be so hard, it would take around an hour for 15+ people to take him down. The prize would be extremely rare loot only attainable through this event. It would vary between armor pieces, guns, etc.
The only way to "predict" when said event will happen is to solve mysteries in game, search for clues, etc. (just brainstorming here). The event would happen in random places and on different planets randomly. You would have to either be in the right place at the right time or predict and know where and when the next event will take place. And if your on a planet with a view of the moon, the moon could turn bright blue (in reference to the old saying "Once in a blue moon.") indicating that the event is about to happen and would stay blue until the "boss" has been defeated. Then the moon could turn blood red and fade back to normal after about 5 minutes. And, just to add it in, you cannot join last minute just to collect the loot. You would have to do at least a certain amount of damage % in order to collect the prize. Without this, you would players just standing around not doing anything except for just waiting for the prize drop. It could have something like a 5 minute grace period for people to join and once the 5 minutes are up, the battle begins whether your ready or not.
So, that's my idea. What do you guys think?
Thanks!
