Random Ninja edits

So I've noticed that Ninjas will randomly edit a thread, but not really edit anything, and then their name shows up as the last editor. These random Ninja edits...there must be something more behind them. It could be a conspiracy!

Retagging. Some members are pretty good at determining appropriate and helpful tags so that others can find their content/discussion. Quite simply, some of our members suck at it. That's where we come in. Think of us as shadowy librarians with OCD that chant the Dewey Decimal Tables as if they were mysterious and ancient prayers. We lurk in the darkness, and when we strike, a lost topic is better classified, easier to find, and more likely to find the audience that it was seeking. We? We help lost topics find the path. Here is an example of a student who is taking their first steps and just discovering the path Perhaps what I said to them may assist here as well.
It would help you a lot if you didn't think of them as "moved". They haven't moved. There aren't multiple places here. There is the forum. Just one. Singular. Not a collections of vertical silos where people gather in one and not the other(s). One forum. Topics in the forum have subjects. Usually (and hopefully) the creator of the topic makes the subject line clear as to what they would like to discuss. If not, they'll need to do it in their OP. In either case, the subject line and the OP are what determine the subject matter and what's "goin' on in here". That is what determines the #tags a thread gets. Nothing moves. There is no "there" there. (thank you Mister President for that one).
• Every time a Ninja does an edit a solitary member is selected by random to face the wrath of the wet noodle. Beware.

If you get a ninja edit, you've been marked for death.

          • I'm an admin on my Planetside 2 outfit website and sometimes I'll do little ninja edits and fix spelling errors that bug me or fix broken images for people. Unless it's our outfit leader, then I make it really obvious that he fucked up with his spelling by striking out what he misspelled and writing the word correctly in big bold letters right next to it.

          • It's usually because they changed the #forum of your thread. Or because they are warning you of impending doom!

          • They are changing the tags so they appear in the proper forums.

            • Some of them are to fix the tags so threads can be better found... or to be lulzy...
