Yellow?

Superman's not boring, and if that's true about batman, what does that make iron man?

Edited by die wily: 6/14/2013 1:30:56 AMAs someone who is vaguely comic-savvy, I find all but the Batman criticism to be pretty accurate. Don't get me wrong, Batman is often the worst character in anything he's in (unless he's accompanied by Catwoman or Superman), but "no superpowers" isn't really worth noting. Superhero comics kinda generally blow ass. There are quite a few great ones, but I'd never tell someone to fuck themselves for making fun of them, because there is a *lot* of stupid bullshit stuff for kids and teens, coupled with just generally bad and convoluted writing.

Edited by M37h3w3: 6/13/2013 9:13:08 PMOn behalf of me: -blam!- you back. I do read comics. I just read good comics. AND GREEN LANTERN IS BLACK GODDAMIT. Also: Superman IS boring and overpowered. Deal with it. -blam!-ing Jesus in a cape.

I don't hate DC or comics, but i do hate comic book fans. They ruin and complain about everything.
-
To be honest, while I like several other kinds of comics/webcomics I really hate the generic DC and Marvel superheroes.
-
Damn it, I keep reading DC as "direct current." I'm such a loser haha.
-
I mean superman really is overpowered. I don't get what can honestly kill him. I mean he went back in time! He flew so damn fast around the earth he reversed time itself! BS all BS. No villain even stands a chance against him.
-
Comics just aren't for everybody. Personally I've gotten into comics quite a bit these last couple of years (thanks to Scott Snyder) and there are great ones out there. Who doesn't love a good story?
-
If you think about, flash is somewhat overpowered. The ability to use the power of friction, phase through walls, travel at the speed of light, anything that has to do with vibrating atoms is part of what he can do
-
Only comic book character that I kinda still like is Static (Virgil Hawkins, DCU). But there are some few others that I find interesting; the main two being Cyborg (DCU) and Leech (Marvel). Everything else is now getting a bit tired.
-
To be fair, Superman is pretty bullshit OP. If it wasn't for Kryptonite he would pretty much be God.
-
Bring in math and science, blow the mind.
-
Hal Jordan hasn't had a yellow weakness in a decade.
-
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Comic book fanboyism (like most types of fanboyism) is stupid. As I said to strongbeer when she called me a "DC fag";
I'm not a "DC fag" nor am I a "Marvel fag". I like both companies equally, and find it incredibly stupid when people say that one is definitively better than the other. Both companies have their flaws and both companies have their respective qualities that make them great.
-
They're all useless when faced with a gun.
-
I am surprised no one calls Flash overpowered, because he really is. Half way across the states in less than a second? OP as crazy.
-
Caring what strangers on the Internet think.
-
Hey, Bungie.net, Knock Knock.
-
Don't forget "lolFlash" (even though Flash is actually an absolute fracking beast).
-
Batman: Venom remains as one of my favorite Batman stories of all time.
-
Comic books are for nerds.
-
Aquaman is easily the most badass among those goons.
-
His weakness is... yellow? :/

Edited by Euler: 6/13/2013 4:25:00 PMI've read comics. Heroes in both Marvel and DC are ludicrously overpowered and major new story only outdoes the second new story by plumbing the depths of retardation. I've only ever liked a few series - the Book of the Iron Fist and some of the Deadpool/Cable crossovers - all the others look like one homogenous mass to me. That's my opinion of course, you are also entitled to one.

Edited by KilljoyDetective: 6/13/2013 6:42:13 PMSooo apparently there's going to be a Scribblenauts DC game, what's up with that how did those universes cross? Also, arguing about comic characters and them fighting each other is an exercise in futility, best case scenario at the end of the argument is that two people now hate each other because it got too overdrawn trying to compare two absurdly powerful characters fighting in over a dozen different scenarios.
