Cross platform play is no happening. I don't think we've had official word on cross generation play.

I trust IGN because they are a respectable gaming news organization, who was invited to the reveal, and was able to directly ask Bungie these questions. I know it's technically possible. But according to IGN, it's not happening.

You cannot play on an Xbox with people on a play station. Whether or not you can play on an Xbox one with people on Xbox 360, or play on a play station 4 with people on Play Station 3 has yet to be announced.
