What do y'all think about the controllers?
Will the PS4's touchpad be awesome for Destiny? (and gaming as a whole) Or will the touchpad be a bust?
With the X1's controller almost the same as the 360's, except the D-pad, will the X1's controller receive as much praise as the 360's did?
Webpage about PS4's controller - http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-57581501-1/sony-everythings-been-tuned-with-ps4-controller/ Still no new info from Sony on the controller.

New info for the X1 controller - http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/06/new-xbox-one-controller-features-detailed - 6/6/13
The controller will utilize both invisible reflective technology and LEDs to communicate with the console and Kinect, which will make syncing the devices a simple task. The technology can also be used so that Kinect can pair the controller with the person holding it, so that if a couple of friends were enjoying a multi-player game, the console can configure the split-screen positions based on where each is sitting.
The new controller will also feature a low power state to help conserve battery life when it is not in use, so you can rest assured knowing that it won't be needlessly draining energy while watching a movie or when away from the console.
Audio delivery through the headset will be a higher quality than what Xbox 360 users have become accustomed to, thanks to an improved data transfer rate between the controller and console. The team claims that communication can even be clearer than when speaking on a telephone.
IGN just tweeted this new info from Major Nelson. It brings new insight on the Xbox one controller.
So now the controller will communicate with Kinect. No more annoying seating arrangements when it comes to split screen with friends. It also will help it sync better.

Now the batteries can last even longer with the new info released. That is one thing that always bugged me, wasting battery while watching a movie. but will we be able to customize how long till the controller goes into this low power state?

Probably the most excited new info. It will be a higher quality of audio through the headset. A lot of people use headsets, so its exciting to know that you will have a more clear audio.

1 ReplyXbox one, but only because I'm more familiar with the stick placement and nice shape.
-
What does this have to do with Destiny? Just curious.
-
1 ReplyI'll take a wii-mote instead thanks.
-
1 ReplyWhile I still think the Xbox One controller looks more comfortable, the PS4 controller looks leaps and bounds better than the PS3 controller. That thing was awful.
-
3 RepliesI always like the Xbox controller for its asymmetrical analog sticks. I think the ps4 touch pad would be useful for navigating menus. I would have to see it in action though.
-
1 ReplyEdited by ToastyWaffles: 6/6/2013 10:46:10 AMI prefer the Xbox One controller. I don't really expect the PS4's touch-pad to have any practical use beyond cheap arcade titles.
-
3 RepliesThe 360 controller is maybe the single finest I've ever used. So the One controller. Problem is, I don't want a One, really. I want a PS4.
-
The Xbox controller fits like a glove.
-
I hope the d pad works much better on the new controller though
-
1 ReplyWhy mess with perfection,X1 controller.
-
1 ReplyThe Xbox controller is actually one of the deciding factors leading to me getting a X1. Personally I think it is super comfortable.
-
2 Repliesneither
-
3 RepliesX1 purely because it isn't 30 ft wide and has resistive triggers which will improve immersion so much when playing any game at all an with the fixed d-pad it should be a great controller to use and enjoy despite the minor aesthetic issues I have with the guide and those two weird buttons!

1 ReplyEdited by S0m3W31rd0: 6/5/2013 7:09:01 AMWhile I do like the Xbox controller better for shooters, I prefer the PS controller for platform games, fighting games and racing games, mainly because of the placement of the D-Pad. I prefer using the D-Pad for fighting and platform games but the Xbox D-pad is in a useless spot for regular use (which is also the reason I prefer shooters on Xbox due to the thumbstick layout). Also in racing games I prefer both sticks in the same position like the Playstation controller. Overall, I prefer the Playstation controller. Besides, although I prefer the Xbox controller for shooters I can still use the PS controller without any issues, but I can't stand using the Xbox controller for fighting and platform games. I guess another reason I prefer using the PS controller is because I've been using them for over 15 years, where as I have only been using the Xbox controller for a few years.

It really doesn't matter to me.
-
I like the look of the X1 controller, but I'll be on PS4 this coming gen so that's a moot point. I absolutely detest the DS3, those L2 & R2 buttons are horrid, but I like what I'm hearing about the DS4. I don't know what to make of the touch pad, but I'm sure it won't be an integral part of every game and it's discreet enough not to be gimmicky (I'm looking at you Wii U). I read that it will have start/select functionality, maybe swipe left to right for start for example.
-
Xbox One for sure. Still, think it looks a bit cheap and tacky.
-
12 RepliesA touchscreen is such a waste of time. Who wants to keep looking down then up while they're playing a game? Just have some buttons and sticks on it, and let the game be the game. In other words, Xbox One.
-
Will the PS4's touchscreen be awesome for Destiny? (and gaming as a whole) Or will the touchscreen be a bust?
It's a touchpad not a thouchscreen... But I like the look of the Xbox One's controller and I think it is going to be a good successor to the Xbox 360's controller...
-
Original Xbox controller. (add bumpers)
-
1 ReplyAre you a drago? The Xbox controller is the best controller ever made
-
5 RepliesI hope to try both out before making a decision.
-
2 RepliesJust off of what I know, I like the dualshock 4 controller more because it seems to have fixed everything wrong with the dualshock 3 and it has more features than the x1 controller.
-
5 Replieshonestly Dualshock in general feels a hell of a lot more comfy than most controls. And this is coming from someone with large hands.
-
I would have to see how they feel before I can make a decision.
-
Edited by darthrevan96: 6/5/2013 5:40:45 AMI'm quite liking how the Dualshock 4 looks and I can't wait to get my hands on it. Honestly in the end it doesn't really matter, you can always just get third party controllers that have the form factor of the other. It wouldn't take more than a month for them to release. Also, #Gaming. Why is this on #Destiny?
