I don't know, but he only has one Regeneration left.Because on the 50th Anniversary they are talking about how they forgot about their real 9th incarnation,so making Eccleston 10th,Tennant 11,Matt Smith 12,and Time Lords can only Regenerate 12 times, unless they take a life, like what the master does.

The Master has had about 4 regeneration cycles, they'll write something in.

The extra cycles were given to the Master by the Time Lords, as there are no more Time Lords I don't think the Doctor can go that route. It'll more than likely be explained by River Song using her remaining regeneration's to heal the Doctor back in whatever episode it was (think it was "Time to Kill Hitler), and that somehow gives him more

my point was it's not like they couldn't get around the regeneration limit. i'm not sure if it's accepted canon but i remember reading that when Rassilon first discovered regeneration it would work forever, but it was limited due to the moral implications of immortality. so if The Doctor could somehow replicate Rassilon's experiments he could possibly give himself more regenerations. at least i think that's how it went; i'll have to dig that book out sometime. but i highly doubt they'd do that now and in any case the technology's probably still on Galifrey so he wouldn't be able to get at it.

I have no doubt Moffat will write something brilliant.
