That episode was by far my favourite of that season. Suranne Jones was brilliant playing the TARDIS, and the chemistry between her and Smith was utterly delightful.

I know the one you're referring to, but don't remember it that much :L For some reason Smith's episodes haven't been too memorable, I think Moffat's tried to make them a little too quirky in places.

Like any profession I would expect the person best suited to the job to get the job. It just so happens that the Doctor is a very male role, not the idiosyncrasies of each regeneration, but the core aspects, morals and values that form the overall picture of the Doctor.
