Anyone who doesn't say Gen 1 is a new fan to the series. Everything after gen 1 was a joke.

  • You sound like an opinionated idiot. I've been playing Pokemon since Gen 1, and I like the 3rd more.

http://kotaku.com/5969098/pokemon-designs-arent-getting-worse-they-may-be-getting-better Try reading this article and I ask you have you taken a look at all the new pokemon? There are some pretty awesome ones. One of my favorite being Chandelure http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Chandelure_(Pok%C3%A9mon) The first gen, and the games that came for them weren't exactly the greatest. It's really nostalgia speaking. Even knowing that I'll say gen 1 is one of my favorites, but simply because I love it doesn't mean I can't love other gens. It also means I can't dislike certain pokemon from the first or any that came after. As a kid the very first game I was given to call my own was Pokemon: Yellow Version. I played that religiously, I never missed an episode of pokemon, I went to card conventions, and for my birthday I was always given a pack of pokemon cards. Even today I collect cards. I still love all the gens. That doesn't mean I'm a new fan of the series. I've been a fan since pokemon was airing cheesy commercials and making pikachu shaped macaroni. Maybe try borrowing a friends new Pokemon game and taking a whack at it. You'll find that instead of grinding pokemon and beating gym leaders there's actually a bit of a story arc in there. Something the first gen game didn't have at all. C:

I tried, and I thought the designs and names were resembling a company running out of ideas. I own Pokemon Red, Yellow, and Gold. Unfortunately the series got old for me and I have no desire to play the new generations. I just laugh at the new stuff, as it isn't Pokemon in my mind.

  • Grimer. Muk. Koffing. Wheezing. Mr. Mime. Voltorb. Jynx. etc. these are worse than any Pokemon from Gen V. The new gens are fine, and have their fair share of great Pokemon. Lilligant and Archeops outclass most of Gen 1.in terms of design.

  • Well I'm sorry to hear that mate. I'm currently playing Soul Silver and it's pretty good :D I don't play it like I used to that's for sure. Just when I'm catching a ride from work or sitting around somewhere. But I can understand considering I feel that way about other things I've grown up with that have changed a lot. Just keep an open mind buddy B)
