Great. I've always been an atheist, but I try to follow the Christian philosophy of doing good and forgiving others. I'm glad this new pope is taking a new, more reasonable approach rather than demonizing atheists, which up until now seems to have been the norm.

How is being a decent person Christian philosophy?

How is doing good and helping others a christian philosophy? It's kind of just common sense. Even Buddhism says this same exact thing but is far older than Christianity. So wouldn't that make it a Buddhist Philosophy? BUT Buddhism follows the direct teachings of Hinduism (minus the gods) since Hinduism is the oldest religion on Earth. So wouldn't that make it a Hindu Philosophy?
