No. A million times no. Like, burn and dump the corpse of anyone who think it should happen no. This isn't an MMO. A dog or a bird or some cat doesn't fit in to this game. This is a game with guns and spaceships, not some kitties and doggies. Make some wildlife you can interact with to make it feel the world feel alive, but DON'T give us pets.

How does a ship and a gun suddenly mean that people no longer have pets? I don't yet know if pets would fit into this game because we don't know that much about how the "world" is set up or the mechanics of it. We all have our ideas and I am sure that we are all, in many ways, wrong. The idea that pets or "animal" companions somehow don't have a place in scifi though, well you should tell that to David Weber among others in the scifi realm.

Edited by DE4THINC4RN4TE: 5/31/2013 10:25:10 AMI'm not referring to the fact that ships and guns themselves do not equal pets, but what they represent. Pets just don't seem to fit into the vision that Bungie has laid out for Destiny. This isn't an MMO. Bungie has made it quite obvious they want to distance themselves from any notion that it is. And we do have a general idea of how this will run. The picture above is of a menu taken straight from one of their vidocs. These don't look like the options of a game that would have pets, like an MMO. This is a gun game with an open-world feel. It will use an invisible system that matches you with players without you leaving the game to accomplish that. Mark my words. Pets. Don't. Fit. In.
