I solved the Gay Marriage issue

It's so God damn easy I don't get why no one thought of this yet. I posted this earlier a few months back but I think it was ignored. Before you start flaming me for my warped view of reality, at least read the whole thing Give Civil Unions the same benefits as Marriage, and let Heterosexual couples be allowed to have Civil Unions. That would eliminate any "Separate but Equal" bullshit out of the water. But wait, there's more! Legalize Gay Marriage across the country, but let individual churches choose whether or not to accept the marriages. If Gay couples really wanted marriage they should have no problem finding a small local church to hold their wedding, and if they cant find a church to approve of it, there is always a Government equivalent with the same benefits. Bam! Boom! Solved. Where's my medal?

  • Why would anybody pick Civil Unions over Marriages? Why not just stop being assholes and let Gay people get married? Like -blam!- it's not a big -blam!-ing deal just stop being bigots.

    • It exists because it's the government equivalent, marriage may not be entirely religious now, but it isn't completely governmental either. And for people like me, I want government COMPLETELY out of marriage (or just have marriage completely destroyed), so Civil Unions would just be there early for my Master Libertarian Plan.

      • But the thing where you go into the government office IS called a marriage, not a civil union. You can have your birthday party at your house, sure. No problem with that. Lots of people have their birthday party at their house. But that doesn't mean if you have it somewhere else it's not a birthday party just because traditionally they're at your house.
