Also, each consoles has a different quantity of RAM allotted for the OS.

Yup Xbox One has 5GB of RAM allocated to the devs (cause of the whole 3 OS thing) whereas the PS4 has 7GB of RAM allocated to the devs.

source? This is one of the only things I have not seen mentioned in any of the articles I have read. I read a very in depth one that only mentioned possibly 1Gb reserved for the windows OS, but that was only speculation from an article that included EVERYTHING else.

I heard this from the latest LinusTechTips live stream. It was earlier today, so it should be up on YouTube sometime tomorrow. I'll crop out the segment they did on the Xbox One and upload it here. In their live stream description they always have the Google Doc they used that night with their notes on it. So I'll see if I can find that source. Either way though, it makes sense, because the Xbox One is running 3 operating systems, which eats up the RAM, which only effectively leaves 5/8GB left. Whereas on the PS4 it is only running 1 operating system, which effectively leaves 7/8GB left.

I can agree that the windows OS will likely take 1 GB and the Xbox OS will take 1 GB, but I don't see how the third "OS" which "links" them can take up very much at all.
