i think you will be able to fly around the atmosphere of a planet than break through to space but as soon as your in the void of space you than have an option to fast travel (via warp speed) to what ever planet you want to go to, without actually physically flying there yourself.

Fast travel is very typical when it comes to space flight but a warp speed would be nice as long as you could still somewhat control your vehicle.

That makes a lot of sense, especially since many people may be turned off by the idea of lengthy space flight.

Edited by Sammoth: 5/20/2013 4:59:09 PMexactly! the distance to mars is well over 10x the distance from earth to the moon. if bungie was looking for a realistic approach they will implement some kind of fast travel, maybe even some kind of crhyo chamber like in halo. i cant wait to see how they do it tho

Have you ever played Kerbal Space Program? That game implements time warps, so maybe Destiny would have normal space travel, but have a way to increase time. Just a thought.

so kinda like you would go into slip space and you could see things pass you as you fly but you can stop at any given moment, say in between your way from earth to Venus to check out an abandoned space station along the way. so going into slip space would basically be a fast forward button for traveling? but not near as confined as a fast travel, sense you can venture out into places in between?

Yep! Exactly like that! It would give a player so much more freedom. It'd be cool if the space travel used slip space as an easter egg to Halo!

I love this idea!!
