Let's be honest, nobody likes nerds, and the subcategories that come within, from comic and manga readers to gamers and cosplayers. So we are bound to be a social group highly by stereotypes and forever being treated as a sub-social group?

1 ReplyFirstly, the term is "geek", unless you know you're specifically talking about "nerds", there is a difference. I classify myself as a geek. I am socially outgoing, but have my personal tastes when it comes to gaming, "geekness", board games and card games. My friends in real life know I'm a Bungie fan and there's no worrying about it. It doesn't really matter in the real world. Be who you are and enjoy life. This is just more a stereotype argument than anything. It's more a concentration in a subject area. You're so focused on one are of your life that you're willing to spend time and money to make a living off of it. By that logic shouldn't all college graduates be considered geeks and/or nerds? Nothing to be shamed about.
