Define "nerd". I play video games and take a lot of interest in them, and I post on online forums. Other than that, being a brony would be the only "nerdy" thing I can think of. But no, it does not condemn me. I'm very lucky to have found a girl that is amazing in every way and shares my interests.

  • You play video games, are interested in these, discuss about them and even have a partner that shares similar interests. Sorry, but you are a nerd, just in neglect.

  • I never said that I wasn't a nerd. I just wasn't sure if I am what you personally would consider a nerd. Simply playing video games and being interested in them is definitely on the lower side of the spectrum of what people would consider a nerd.

  • Well that doesn't change the facts.

  • What facts?

  • You said yourself that you do play video games and are interested in them and that you also do engage in conversation about them. Regardless of the stereotype behind what a nerd is, you still are one. And I still insist you are neglecting that because of your last statement "Simply playing video games and being interested in them is definitely on the lower side of the spectrum of what people would consider a nerd." is it, really, or is it flat-out denial?

Dude... Reading comprehension 101. I never said I wasn't a nerd. I consider myself a nerd, but because of how socially accepted and common video games have become these days, I know a lot of people that would not think of someone as a nerd for the mere fact that they play video games. I am not interested in sci-fi, anime, manga, programming, software/hardware details, comic books, figurine collecting, cosplay or anything that is typically considered nerdy like that, which is why I said I'd be on the lower side of the spectrum. Please do acknowledge this now and stop accusing me of being in denial. I know exactly what I am and how a lot of people still think playing video games is the apex of being a nerd.

  • Oh, so it is alright for someone to enjoy one thing, but will be never considered part of that group? Enjoying all the goods, but not accepting the wrongs.

What is this even supposed to mean? I can hardly even figure out what you're trying to say there. Could you clarify in a sentence that is not as broken as could be?
it is alright for someone to enjoy one thing, but will be never considered part of that group
Regardless, I do know what you're trying to say, but it's ignoring everything I have said so far. I never said I wasn't a nerd and that I even considered myself one. This "conversation" if you will, would be a lot easier if you would just acknowledge that and make some actual points.
