All the evidence. Ever.
so yeah.. I'm not in the mood to discuss this right now. Sorry.

? Lack of evidence for something =/= evidence against something
-
Well, let me put it this way: Until there is any solid evidence of hell, the only rational stance is to assume it's nonexistent. Read this And enjoy this.

The rational stance is to assume neither.
-
No...did you read the article about th burden of proof? You're saying that it is the rational stance to assume that Odin might be out there...
-
No, I'm saying that the rational stance is to not assume Odin's existence or non-existence. Unless you have evidence for a position, don't adopt that position. It's irrational to believe something without evidence.
-
I know, I've been around long enough to hear "burden of truth etc etc". However, your post seemed to imply that there was active evidence against hell.
-
Yeah, I should have phrased it better..
-
It's an unsupported metaphysical construction. There's no reason to believe in Hell over, say, Hades, or even over Grim Fandango's depiction of the after-life.

Alright. Gee, what a great way to promote discussion.
-
Sorry, but there really isn't much to discuss..
-
I was kind of expecting more theists to discuss these 10 things. But whatever.
-
Probably because most modern theists don't believe those ten points.
-
Of course not, but I expected theists to perhaps believe in at least one. Maybe one theist believes in one point and another theist would believe in other. You seldom see a theist vs. theist discussion in S7s anymore, so I posted the article in hopes that I would get to see one again. But that didn't happen, oh well.
-
Well I believe in one point - there will be many popes in hell.
-
Sure, my comment was directed mainly towards snake and it was concerning the existance of hell. You've put together a quality post and I think it has great conversation potential with the right audience. I just don't happen to be in it.
