I have to give a 10 minute speech this Wednesday. I'm hating life right about now.

Probably about 10 minutes. I suck at speeches though, I always get nervous and forget what I'm supposed to say.

2 RepliesI've never given a speech. When would I ever need to??

Edited by Butane: 5/13/2013 10:00:32 PMOver an hour, to probably around 200 people. Not really a "speech", more of a presentation.

I gave a 20 minute speech about Nikola Tesla, whilst dressing up in his attire.

I don't remember having to give one that went more than about 15 minutes. I've done longer group presentations but I wasn't talking most of the time. Don't worry too much, you'll do fine. If you're a relatively new public speaker, just practice, practice, practice and write, write, write even if you don't have your notes with you when you're speaking.

10 min speech about symbols and themes in The Great Gatsby in my junior year of Highschool.

30 minutes on the viability of using Hg(3)Te(2)Br(2) crystals as the semi-conductor in a room-temperature gamma ray detector. So many yawns.
-
0 because I've never been asked to do a speech absolutely and utterly ever because I am cripplinglylingly shy

I did an informative analysis on the Force, which turned out to be around 8-minutes long.

1 ReplyI had to write, memorize, and present about four 10-minute long speeches for OO this year.
