People on Bungie.net need to stop pretending that they're better than other people simply because they've noticed a certain pattern of behavior, and then warped the whole of reality into that flimsy model.
Threads like this are a dime a dozen, and I'd take a go-nowhere political flame war over them any day. At least those have the possibility of progression, and aren't just the OP fancying himself an objective observer and condescending everyone around him. Please, stop fucking posting these threads.

People have always done this.

You're condescending him and all folks like him for all acting the same when he's pointing out condescending people that all act the same.

Edited by die wily: 5/11/2013 7:30:04 AMExactly, but I didn't create an inherently bitchy and condescending thread and presume it had discussion value. I didn't make some list of stringed-together biases and spurt them out like some insecure moron who can't believe his brain actually produced an idea today and thinks everyone else will be just as amazed.

Well, no. But you did say you're in support of threads that you admitted do the same thing that you're complaining about.
-
Actually, he didn't. He simply said he'd prefer political flamewars over this sort of self-indulgent nonsense.

A "go-nowhere political flame war" over threads that are presumed to have discussion value, but are in reality just the OP making a point. Both kinda do the same thing.
-
"Go-nowhere" meaning that no one is converted to another side. There are still other benefits to be gained even in the more stubborn flamewars.

As in the aspects I already mentioned:
There's actual interchange, and people can feasibly walk away from it with a better understanding of the other side, or an observer can get a nice look at the interplay between the range of stances.
Plus, a flamewar is still an actual *discussion*, not a blog.

Edited by die wily: 5/11/2013 7:38:52 AMIn that they have the possibility of progression. There's actual interchange, and people can feasibly walk away from it with a better understanding of the other side, or an observer can get a nice look at the interplay between the range of stances. Here, there's nothing. The OP has stated his opinion, we're dumb, stop talking, the end. He'd be far better off, and far less masturbatory, saving his speech for some specific incidence of a person being a stubborn moron. The OP is really nothing but a draft of a rebuttal to some imaginary jerks. It's not thread material.

Exactly. I miss the days when we could lock threads. All I could do now is simply delete it, but I dislike having no recourse but to use such a drastic measure to combat this sort of nonsense. It comes off more as the censoring of dissenting opinion than the simple removal of material that has no discussion value. At least when threads were lockable, everyone could still go back and read the exchanges within and decide for themselves whether or not moderator intervention was justified.

Can't you just ban him so we're rid of him forever. After all, he does just create spammy, shitty threads.
-
No, I am simply saying that we someone remove a certain part of the website.

Edited by die wily: 5/11/2013 7:14:10 AM
No, I am simply saying that we someone remove a certain part of the website.
I'm going to assume the "we" was a typo. And no, forums are for discussing, and this private group is for discussing religion, philosophy, science, society, and politics. If you don't like how people handle these topics, either (1) intervene during the actual discussions or (2) get the hell out. This thread is no solution and has no discussable subject other than your inflated ego.

This is like an Anarcho-Libertarian State. Bungie realized that this website is better without them banning anyone with a sense of humor or intellect.

You possess a sense of humor and intellect? You don't seem interested in displaying either.
