World:
-Larger than RDR GTA 4 and GTA SA COMBINED!
-Animals (and hunting!)
-Dynamic events such as hitchhikers, broken down cars, and robberies
-Dynamic wounds
-Waves/water that acts more akin to AC3 than previous GTA titles
-Scuba gear + looting shipwrecks
-sharks!
-New episodes of Republican Space Rangers
-Ballas are confirmed to be back and on top
-rival gangs wont attack on sight they will need to be provoked
-^this^ however does not apply to cops who will be fired upon ON SIGHT (useful for evasion)

Personalization
-improve skills for each character: Lung capacity, strength, shooting, stealth, flying, driving (subject to change)
-Skills improve similar to Skyrim (Skills improve as you use them / No "skill points")
-Haircuts,clothes, tatoos
-Pay and spray shops are now full blown custom shops
-tweak vehicle performance/aesthetics a la Midnight Club
-customize paint, rims, spoilers, grill, tint, even license plates
-Weapon customization: scopes, flashlights, silencers, laser sight, extended mags
-Rockstar has backed away from a previous statement Real Estate is now CONFIRMED: businesses, helipads, homes, garages, marinas

Combat:
-draws upon RDR, Max Payne 3, and GTA 4
-Each character has Unique Ability:
Michael: Bullet Time
Franklin: Slow Time while Driving
Trevor: Rage mode (2x damage given, less damage taken) + Unique melee
Skills are said to be "Limited resource" so long cool downs are to be expected
-3 aiming options: Hard Snap targeting, soft targeting, free aim
-Some cover is destructible
-Rockstar: " gunshot damage is now totally dynamic and specific to particular weapons as well."
-Regenerate up to 50% of health. Medkits to replenish the rest in combat.
-Various types of body armor

Heists
-Five or Six "big" heists throughout story to support your habits
-You are given options on how to approach a heist (enter through roof? side door?)
-Choose whether to hire cheap or expensive specialists (you get what you pay for)
-sub-missions that set up the heists (steal and stash the getaway car, buy armor/masks etc.)
-jump between the multiple characters during heist (and missions) to perform different tasks
-"play tester fires a rocket with Trevor and switches immediately to Franklin. Before the rocket even reaches its intended destination, he's in full control of the new character."

3 RepliesEdited by Rdog 11: 5/2/2013 9:56:24 PMI will be tempted to buy this. I recently bought GTA IV on sale through Games on Demand and I love it so far. GTA IV question: Is it possible to save a car to my apartment or whatever, or do I really have to go steal one every time I drive somewhere??

2 RepliesSounds cool, but I think Watch Dogs will be better.

Please tell me a lot of this rolls into MP for Free Mode. I would love to do heists and have all this customization. Put in an economy into MP with the ability to play the mini games like Pool or Bowling and it'll be my GotY.

5 RepliesAwesome. I'm only just getting into GTA now, to tell you the truth, and I'm amazed I didn't before.

Updated OP with some info that I found to be the most interesting.

GTA V will be the best game this year.

2 RepliesEdited by OptimusPrime 15: 5/2/2013 7:55:04 PMThis is all the stuff I've wanted to hear. I'm glad Rockstar has taken the extra development time to put more stuff into the game. It sounds 10x better than GTA IV.
