Well aren't you the smartest little 16 year old engineer ever.

Number 1, I'm almost 18. Number 2, I've already completed a 2 year internship with them. Number 3, within three weeks I'm going to have about 3 months of completely free time, which is when I start. Number 4, 90% of the work can be done in my garage. And finally, number 5, yes, I am pretty frickin' smart.

Ah yes, I'm quite sure a defense contractor is perfectly willing to hire someone with no formal higher education to be an engineer when there is a plethora of formally educated graduates out there. If by "airframe engineer" you mean "get tea and crumpets for the adults" then I'll concede.

Edited by Adept Invention: 5/2/2013 4:46:17 PMMy dad already works for them. They know that the degree I'm going into will take me into a similar area so they've taken me on board off the bat. I've been working with model aircraft for years and complicated circuitry and programming for the last 2. I'm more than capable of taking on the role I've been designated, which involves flight testing, tweaking gains, and qualitative part testing. I haven't just pulled the job out of thin air, I have links within the company.
