I got a 30$ gamestop giftcard for my birthday a few weeks ago and I couldn't decide on what I wanted until I saw that FarCry 3 was droped down to 30$ at gamestop. Do you think FarCry 3 is worth it or should I get something else? Please post your opinions after voting on why you chose what you did.

2 RepliesDoes Gamestop do game rentals? Because the card I have is for gamestop only. If its only worth renting then I might just buy something else like ASC3 or Civ: Revolution
-
people are talking about not doing side missions...well don't take them seriously then because that's another layer of challenge and upgrades to get those done. hunting sharks isn't easy.
-
Yes, get it. I recommend not freeing any outposts, as the amount of enemies will drastically decrease.
-
It's a great game, loved almost everything about it. Though when you are done with the story there really isn't much to do after.
-
2 RepliesMeh, fun game. But with too many surprise sex scenes
-
It's okay on console. Aside from the average 20fps and framerate dips.
-
The side missions had no appeal to me and I beat the story relatively quickly. Buy it used or rent it.
-
It's a great game, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.
-
I would rent it trust me on this after you complete the main missions you probably won't even want to do the side missions because they are boring as hell.
-
2 RepliesIt's -blam!-ing amazing. One second you're setting mines and throwing knives in the jungle and the next you're cruising in a hijacked gunship taking the fight to the pirates.
-
The game is boring as hell trust me. It's just so sluggish.
-
1 ReplyAlot of people are saying No, which troubles me. I think it looks like a good game.
-
I have no -blam!-ing clue why people are saying no. Whats wrong with you flood?

1 ReplyEdited by Jaaake AU: 4/29/2013 11:38:49 PMFar Cry 3 is great... unless you get it on console. It's so bad otherwise. Sub 25fps, screen tearing, artefacts, terrible draw distance and blurry as shit. A fair bit of aliasing too. Story isn't that great (in fact it's terrible), but the most fun you'll get is just on and around the island.
-
Heck yeah! I'm working on perfecting it.

5 RepliesEdited by DELIVER ME MEMES: 4/29/2013 11:23:29 PMNO! buy FarCry3 Deluxe Edition instead. it has pre-order weapons like the awesome silenced R700 which you need to defeat challenges. also, more quests.
-
It's beyond overrated.
-
It was fun but short.

1 ReplyI say yes. It has a compelling story, with characters you feel for. The combat feels great, and there are usually many ways to tackle an encounter. The multiplayer is pretty much the run-of-the-mill shooter stuff. There is a map editor, even on the XBox, and you can play user levels in matchmaking. Definitely worth $30.

1 ReplyEdited by VerticalGradient: 4/29/2013 11:06:03 PMI'd rent it, IMO. It's totally free-world, and after you complete the main storyline you can restart from a checkpoint either directly after or slightly before the ending (it's been a while for me), to continue wherever you were. I played it for about 70-80 hours, at which point I never really went back to it because I wasn't compelled to play further. It was like Dishonored for me, a good game but wasn't compelled to replay it.

Easily one of the best games of last year, so yes OP, buy it NAO.
-
1 Replyhell no dude there is a mission on there where u have to burn a shitload of weed. I cried.
-
5 RepliesIt's a good game, just not a good Farcry game.
-
2 RepliesYes but do side missions as a priority. The main story is pretty short.
-
Multiplayer is pretty bog-standard but I feel the singleplayer alone is worth the $30, I loved the story of far cry 3, let alone the sandbox combat.

Anyone? I really need some opinions.
