Returns isn't canon. Plus Superman had just gotten over being hurt by a nuke (which wouldn't even phase main continuity Supes) and was trying his best not to kill Batman the entire fight.

Batman outwitted him, he knew superman could kill him in one blow and was counting on him to hold back. He knew superman was going to hold back like he always does. thats how batman won, he might not have superpowers but his wit is his greatest ally

  • Well if Batman was relying on him to hold back, then technically didn't Superman allow him to win? That's nothing to do with wit, just sheer luck and hope.

  • superman always holds back, skip to 0:38 and listen to what superman has to say. he always hold back, its not that he lets people win, its that he doesnt want to harm innocents anyone else. He wasn't going to let batman win, he was going to tire him out so he goes back into retirement. Its not sheer luck, batman planned the entire thing, he knew superman was going to come and try to stop him so he devised a plan to stop superman.

  • Yes but the point was, if he wanted to, Superman could squish him into the pavement at any point in the fight. He chose not to however. If that's the main reason Batman would win against superior foes, then in a vs thread with morals off, he'd get demolished 9 times out of 10.

  • but superman didnt want to, he held back while batman didnt. batman won because he's better, he out witted superman, get over it

  • If your argument is "BATTYMAN WINS BCUS SUPERMON DUN'T WANT TO KILL HIM" then you already have your victor in a hypothetical vs scenario with morals off. Batman loses. You get over it.

  • my argument isnt that batman won because he didnt want to kill superman, if superman wasnt holding back, batman would've won anyway. All he needs is the element of surprise and some kyrptonite. something that every superman villain has even though its a rare rock on earth. I'm surprised that any super villain hasnt killed him with it yet, all you need is to have the rock on you and something to cover long distance (like a bow and arrow or a gun) to shoot him with then watch him die.

  •
my argument isnt that batman won because he didnt want to kill superman, if superman wasnt holding back, batman would've won anyway.
Ok that's enough. It isn't even questionable whether Superman would win or not bloodlusted. The guy can crack planets in half if he wanted to. I'm up for conceding to specific circumstances where Bats would win, but if Superman is pissed, there is absolutely no chance he would win, regardless of that plot device you call Kryptonite.
All he needs is the element of surprise and some kyrptonite. something that every superman villain has even though its a rare rock on earth.
Kryptonite has various effects on him depending on which writer. Sometimes it mildly irritates him, other times it cripplingly debilitates him after prolonged exposure. Notice the latter happens whenever Batman is wielding it. PIS much?
I'm surprised that any super villain hasnt killed him with it yet, all you need is to have the rock on you and something to cover long distance (like a bow and arrow or a gun) to shoot him with then watch him die.
You just went full retard. He can move faster than the speed of light. He would perceive an arrow/bullet at the pace we perceive snails to move at.
