Hear me out before replying. If an individual commits an atrocity, it is only natural for us to wish justice be exacted on this person. However, if they were truly remorseful for their actions and were serious about atoning for their crimes, wouldn't it be easier to forgive than to hold a grudge against the individual for the rest of your life, even after their death? What good does anger do if the person is remorseful? It doesn't bring your loved ones back to life and it certainly doesn't bring you peace. Hatred is another repercussion of the crime if you allow it to foster and it wears you down.. By showing forgiveness, you liberate yourself from hatred and you are able to grieve properly and then move on with life.
That said, the Boston bomber has not shown remorse, but it is my hope that he does come to understand the gravity of his crime and will repent.

1 ReplyAmerica should repent for its crimes

1 ReplyThere's nothing he can do to atone for his sins. Being "sorry" means shit when you've killed people, hurt many others, terrorized a whole town and nation. Being "sorry" isn't enough.
