~What do you think that you want or like to be the health system in destiny:
feel free to add some other possibility I have not think or to write your ideas about the subject... Also do you think that shields should exist in the game or it will better without them?
*I believe some ideas, I have write, can work together better, but lack of extra slots I couldnt gine that as a option
*sorry if I write the words to close or cut some of them, I was not given the space

I think it would be interesting if it was slow regeneration overtime, but you could use med-kits to help with recovery. It would make it feel more realistic because when you get injured IRL it takes time for your injuries to heal, but just it won't take that long in-game and the different races heal in different ways. I mean come on the Exo's are robots maybe you could use a battery and some jumper cables...

I believe how it should work is you have Shield regens, but health regen comes from 2 places: 1. Health packs you buy. 2. A Warlock.
-
I really don't like regenerating health. I hope we have to use health packs or other sources.
-
I really like how H1 and Reach did it with shields that recharge but health that doesn't. I like that balance between straight up recharging health (which is stupid and unrealistic IMO) and no regeneration at all (which always makes me stressed about my health and has me searching everywhere for medkits or whatever.) When you have regenerating shields you can afford to be a little reckless and take hits and dish out the pain yourself but you still have to be aware that you can die fairly easily with no shields and that makes enemies who wield weapons like the plasma pistol especially dangerous.

Edited by Guru: 4/19/2013 11:06:43 PMI would like it better if there were health packs but there is armor or shields. If your health doesn't regenerate then you wouldn't want to loose some health. If your armor or shields does regenerate then you want to make sure you get in cover before you loose health. This would make it more realistic and stop people from going right into the middle of the battle and killing everyone and not worrying about health. Making people more careful and to make sure they don't die.

I want a shield that can regen but a health bar that doesn't ... so basically borderlands but you have to bring your health packs from the tower, with some max carry number.
-
I'd like shields that recharge at a fairly decent rate, then health that either doesn't recharge until we find a health pack, or very slowly if it does recharge.
-
I really liked Reach's system of Auto-regeneraion up to a certain point, but you needed to get health packs to bring it back to full if you were too badly damaged. Plus shields over that made it nice.

Far Cry style. Manual healing the proper way.
-
I want the system that Reach used. Maybe with health regeneration outside of combat.

One idea that I saw in the MMO GW2 was that all characters had access to a self-heal ability. This varied depending on player class and I think for destiny they could go one further and have it vary by race as well. What this allowed for was a better level of independence for every player whilst not giving you a full health recharge for no apparent reason. In combat this took time to do and could be interrupted (so nothing like syringes in Far Cry 3) so all in all you felt the need to slow down and think when you took lots of damage or were recovering. In addition to this other abilities allowed for healing but in different forms such as healing over time, burst healing, AoE, etc. I know we've been told this isn't an MMORPG but it wouldn't hurt to tap into their way of doing things.

Edited by CaptKrunch: 4/19/2013 9:24:27 PMI feel that shields should recharge, while health stays down unless you use a healing kit of some kind. Or: You need to equip shields onto your character and when that shield is gone you have to equip a new one, or tough luck. Health would work the same way as the first example I showed.

I don't buy into auto-regeneration. It may work in some games as a mechanic but it's really weird to be shot up to point where you stub your toe and you'd die, but after ten seconds of camping like a little bitch you're back up to full health like nothing happened. This really breaks immersion for me, even though I benefit from it, because when I'm not benefitting from it (when I get killed), someone else is benefitting from them, and whatever work I'd done towards getting that kill that a teammate could ultimately get--meaning I assisted--could be lost just as a matter of time, not a function of my enemy playing smarter and getting a health pack or a heal or what-have-you. I could see Guardian magic acting as the healing agent in this game. But they if they include automatically regenerating health, they need a better excuse than Call of Duty. At least in Halo 2 and 3 we could say the armor had biofoam to constantly heal us. Call of Duty offers no explanation I heard of to wish away damage. Shields of course should automatically regenerate just like Halo, no question.

I like auto recharging shields (that begin their recharge after either leaving combat or simply not getting hit for a while) accompanied by a small health pool. I think its more realistic for your shields to be able to eat a good amount of damage but once they're gone, well....most ppl can't survive a couple bullets from there.
