Should they be mandatory? In Halo in was common to see people work together, but in a good amount of other games its like 'screw my mic'. Destiny will be a full co-op game...so my question is should it be mandatory for us to have a mic to communicate with?
-
I don't think it should be mandatory, but it would be nice to see some mic involvement for tactical purposes. (A perfect example would be Planetside 2)
-
No, because idiots exist. (The people who voted 'yes' prove my point lol!)
-
make it so that players have the option for choosing to play only with people who agree to use a mic all the time
-
maybe you could only here those within a small radius...or a squad?
-
You can't force people to communicate.

Edited by solfinder: 4/18/2013 3:57:32 AMMan I really thought it world be really awesome to roam around the would eve dropping on everyone. Haha like fable 3. A mic would make people coop more and make the world a social place like bungie has been saying in interviews and there videos
-
Not mandatory but remove party chat.
-
Playstation 4 owners will h Receive a free mic so this won't be much of mix problem but this does pose other problems. When I play fps games sometimes I like to go mute no sound & no mic so this could pose a problem for me. Also some people just don't want to talk sometimes.
-
Wow, a its basically a flat out no...well nvm then. I just wish the x360 was more keyboard friendly
-
i some what hope they make you be in game chat.
-
Are there even any games with Mandatory mics? I don't think it's a good idea. I doubt Destiny will even be the hardcore team/squad oriented game that warrants everyone having mics. Anyway, as people have pointed out Bungie says you won't need a mic.
-
There wouldn't be any reason to force communication. The best place to have forced communication in Halo Reach was playing Campaign Co-op or Firefight, but it was never necessary to succeed even in Invasion. I've played on a team of randoms against hyper-organized clans in Invasion and whooped 'em.
-
Bungie has ready said you don't have to us a Mic if you don't want to...
-
1 Reply/plugs in mic to play the game, unplugs when game starts. /plugs in mic to play the game, lays headset on floor. This serves no purpose, mate. If somebody doesn't want to talk or listen to you, they aren't going to talk or listen to you.
-
3 RepliesTechnically, yes. Though, i'm quite shy and my accent is probably horrible. :D
-
-blam!- no. I don't want wanna be forced to listen to some whiny kid who cries because he didn't get his rare loot.
-
They should definitely NOT be mandatory.
-
Edited by Xmark120: 4/17/2013 5:03:40 PMI don't see why not.
-
Hell to the no!
-
That should never be mandatory in ANY game.
-
Forcing people to use mics is stupid, I probably wouldn't play that often is Destiny did this.
-
I think that we should be able to plug-in a USB keyboard and use it as well as a mic.
-
i think it would be a good idea if you were to be able to quickly join a party chat (which is what i use in every game i play with friends) in game, so you dont have to use the xbox slide menus.

1 ReplyYour name isn't Adam Orth by any chance is it?
-
Party chat is there for a reason.
-
Too messy to make it required. If people don't want to talk to you, they don't want to talk to you, and that's fine.
