Unfortunately, in the recent debates "gun control" has been equated with banning certain types of firearms.
Tens of thousands of people who live in cities are killed by guns a year (including hundreds if not thousands of children)
Uh. . . only 10,000 per year. And less than 4% were under the age of 17.
Uh. . . only 10,000 per year. And less than 4% were under the age of 17.
I think he meant worldwide, not just in the US.
-
So. . . what does that have to do with gun control in the US?
-
Excluding the part where he says he lives on Connecticut. The US isn't mentioned once in the OP.
-
I meant the US, but I used total gun deaths rather than gun murders, which would be more correct.
-
Noted.
-
That's for gun murder. Gun deaths in general are 30,000 total, of which 3,000 are children.
-
Gun deaths include suicide, which is a non-indicative of violence.

Edited. Happy? Now answer my question.
-
Suicide by gun is much more effective than other methods. The less people that attempt suicide with guns, less people successfully kill themselves overall.

-
Japan has a higher suicide rate. I'm talking about when an individual shoots themselves in the head, the suicide is 99% effective.

I blame Japans massive porn industry.
