I thought black holes didn't have a singularity in them. I heard they lead to white holes in an opposite universe.

White holes are a theoretical phenomenon, we've never actually observed them before. I believe I've read Quasars were mistaken for black holes, but we've since discredited that theory due to the realization that they are, in fact, the result of galaxies with very energetic, active black holes in their centers.
