It's a pretty basic question. Are you for or against it? If you choose other, please explain why.
(EDIT: Misspelled For in the poll.)

7 RepliesI'm against it. My personal opinion is that everything was so completely blown up that it's ridiculous to even consider, impulse politics mind you. I think now that they hype has blown over we can see more rational thoughts towards gun ownership in America. Responsible people will be responsible, those that seek to break the law will continually do so. There's no legislating that in any matter that will change anything on any end.

1 ReplyIf you want to bare arms, wear a sleeveless shirt.

Gun control isnt about guns, its about control. If guns are the cause of murder, then I guess the possession of private property is the cause of robbery.
-
Define "gun control." Seems like most people -- least in the news -- tend to use the term to refer to a total ban on gun ownership. I oppose that. What I support is gun ownership with reasonable regulations. People should be able to get guns, and relatively easily if they pass a good background check. However, the purchases and ownership should be tracked, lengthy gun safety training should be mandatory, so on and so forth.

I'm for more idiot control.
-
im for intensive gun training so people know how to properly handle and care for a gun

4 RepliesI was spending this past weekend at a monastery with my bro and I am for gun control! This monastery is located in the desert and surprisingly theres a neighborhood surrounding it. All the houses are very spaced out and it is probably the sketchiest place to be, especially at night! All the surrounding neighbors have guns, even the monastery had guns on them for cases when wild dogs were a problem and also wild people (not kidding). This place is probably the sketchiest place to be at all, if I had to choose I'd rather be in ghetto LA at night instead of here at night, At least in LA someone will hear my scream. I am for gun control people need to have luxury of safety on their side.

gun control isnt the solution, education is

Edited by GHOST270: 4/2/2013 4:42:46 AMI'm against form of gun control based on 'feel good' knee jerk reactions to heinous crimes, AKA everything being petitioned for now. The laws on the books snow are sufficient, so how about we step up enforcement of those laws before we get a new set and continue to half-ass those as well, eh?

1 ReplyIt depends on what kind of control. Do people who voted "against" think it should be legal for children to buy gins? What about felons?
-
I am for be against it, and against anyone who is for being against people who are against it.
-
There is no reasonable reason to be against gun control. There are, however, reasons against banning guns outright. The US has gun control now. Gun control =/= banning all guns.
-
Gun control is pretty vague. I'm for some forms of gun control. Being against it to me implies you want none at all.

Well, I'm not afraid of getting shot where I live. Canada ftw.

Stronger regulations against guns. But then again, if there's a will there's a way.

1 ReplyFuck gun control.

1 ReplyI'm against it. Why? Do I really need to explain why? Open your eyes people. Look at all the statistics in the past. Do we really need history to repeat itself once more? You all make me sad.

1 ReplyI believe that there should be deep background checks on anyone that wishes to own a working firearm. I'm cool with you having one as a collectible as long as it isn't a danger to someone else. If you want a working gun you should have to be registered and put in the system. I believe heavy artillery and larger firearms like 50cal snipers and fully auto weapons should be banned from civilian use. I don't think you should have to pay hundreds of dollars though. It is every citizen's right to bear arms, but I believe you should be in the system if you wish to do so.

5 RepliesFor with regards to military equipment, I don't want civilians armed with M60s, High Capacity magazines (like the 100 round Beta-C), fully auto ARs (or semi-auto that can easily be changed to full auto, manufacturers need to be less lazy). I would like to see open carry allowed more, it was an effective deterrent to police power abuse in the 70s and 80s until Reagan banned it in California. I would like to see gun safety encouraged and proper training.
