I still don't understand how you can measure the spin of something so small. It boggles my mind. Why does it even have spin? What's making it spin? How can something be spinning if it has no mass?
TOO MAHNY QUESHUNS!!!

'Spin' on a quantum level is an intrinsic property of a particle, like it's mass or charge. It's linked to angular momentum, but it's like the angular momentum a particle has just by being that particle, rather than being under the influence of some outside force. As to how they measure it, I don't know the details for the Higgs, but the spin of a particle can dictate how it behaves in a magnetic field (if it's a charged particle), what the angular distribution of its decay is, and what decay particles it forms.
