Christians The belief there was absolutely nothing, then some random white guy with a beard happened from the nothing until he made the nothing magically explode(for no raisin), creating everything and everywhere. Then a bunch of the exploded everything magically rearranged itself(cause he said so) into self-replicating bit which turned into a human who's rib then turned into another human. And they think that there's a 2000 year old book that is absolutely right even though it says the Earth is only 10,000 years old. Don't know enough about the other religions to make different ones but this is just to make a point.

I know, I was making something up that's untrue, but is a popular belief against Christianity because the picture says "And they mock us" as if every Atheist ever hates down on religion. This sounds like I'm making it up but srsly, Religion threads are seriously pissing me off.

  • ^he's right. Where they get this "Earth is 4000 years old" crap is from a guy in the early 60s who tried to interpret the bible. Nowhere does it say how old Earth is.

  • The idea of interpreting the bible to mean that the Earth is only a few thousand years old goes back much, much farther than the sixties. I can't remember the first person to systematically interpret the bible (or Torah) literally, but I think it, at least, predates the first testament.
