Mindshard. PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHECK THE DATE ABOUT STUFF THAT CHANGES BECAUSE STUFF CHANGES. HOW DID YOU PEOPLE EVEN FIND THIS OLD THREAD ANYWAYS IT'S OCT 28 VERSUS MAR 11?

No. That is way off the mark.
Look: Bungie has already said that you can have a fufilling game experience without any internet connection. That is a fact that directly contradicts the idea of Destiny having Always Online DRM.
I also feel as though I should say that in order to play multiplayer you need a connection regardless and that it doesn't count.

No, they said you can have a good game experience playing alone. It is an online only game. Feel free to link a quote stating otherwise.

I had no problem with the online only for this game until I got Simcity. The online only thing with their servers going down is making me want a refund and I do not want the same thing to happen with Destiny. There has to be a way to play this game offline with no internet connection so that Destiny does not suffer the same fate the new Simcity did.

Nop, the game is always online.
-
When did they say that? Everything I've heard points to Always-online as well. They've said you can have a fulfilling experience SOLO, but that's vastly different from offline.
-
I haven't read anywhere that you can play offline. IGN reported that you must be online to play Destiny in any capacity.

That may be the product of misreporting. I'm not sure if it is, but it's certainly possible - video games journalism is -blam!-ing pathetic.
