Can I disable this by an options menu if I want to be a hermit? I can't imagine being one of several hundreds walking into a place and them all popping up next to me. What sort of scale are we talking here? What will determine who appears in my game ('my game' being the one I see)? Will it essentially be like Halo's matchmaking system in pairing me up with a limited number of randoms in the area, if each area acted like a matchmaking playlist?

  • I doubt it's going to be on the scale of MMOs, and I also doubt that you'll have the option to turn it off, it sorta seems to be the underlying reason why you need to be connected to the internet to play Destiny. I'm guessing if you don't want to hang out with randoms, you can simply ignore their presence, just like you would real people in the real world, but they're still there, because they want this world to feel alive.
