So I just spilled a cup of coffee into the top fan of my computer...

MFW Opened it up and I'm cleaning it out. It doesn't look too bad, the fan and grill caught most of it. I got a rag over it before the cup was even empty (time basically stops when you're faced with the loss of $900 worth of electronics). Can any of you recommend diagnostic software so I can test the hardware before using it again? Something that stresses each component to determine if they're functioning properly. If my mobo's going to smoke from burning coffee, I'd rather have it happen during a test than when I'm not expecting it. Thanks Flud. (Currently on my laptop; I hit the power switch in the back as soon as it happened.

  • If youre using it fine now and it hasnt died already, then theres nothing wrong with it. But how the hell do you manage to spill coffee into a computers fan grill

    • Can't help you with the software, but... really? How does one even do that?

      • Oh man that's like what happened when my friend spilled orange soda on my 1200$ gaming desktop. Luckily, it only got caught in my computers power button and fried the wires connecting to the power supply. However the OS crashed and all my data was lost from it turning on and off so fast when i tried to recover it... Anyway, if your hardware was going to fail it probably would have already and you would be blue screened, so it seems you lucked out like i did.
