The reason companies dont really want to release on PC is because of Piracy concerns.
Crysis 1 & 2 where the most pirated PC games. If Destiny comes out for PC it might become the most Pirated PC game.

how many MMo's do you know to pirated hmmm? if the game will be multiplayer/coop only, piracy wont be of a concern.

MMO's get pirated all the time. Never heard of private servers? Some World of Warcraft private servers, for example, have populations to rival the official realms. I get your point though, same thing as how EA are forcing people to be online for the upcoming SimCity game.
-
plus, its really the companies fault for not making a decent anti-piracy system. And dont tell me all those programmers and security techs cant make one.

Fighting piracy is a waste of time, anything they try will end up being cracked eventually. The only way to counter piracy is by offering a superior service which is worth paying for. Just look at the success story which is Steam, built on these principles. Like you said in a post earlier, a lot of private servers for MMO's are full of hackers, cheaters and bugs, which is why there's still healthy populations on official realms and people are still willing to pay a subscription fee. Destiny could use the same formula if it were to come to PC. Sure it will get pirated easier than the console versions, that's inevitable. But as long as by owning an official copy you'd have a better gaming experience it won't really be an issue. I don't think piracy risk is anything to do with Destiny not getting a PC release straight away.

finally someone who can hold a discussion with some valid arguments, and without starting a flame war. And a little more on topic @Oleg , please dont compare games like Crysis with Destiny, they arent even in the same league

Well PC usually doesn't sell as well as console so for them its to see if its worth the effort. Plus their main focus was Xbox and Playstation platforms

yet another perfectly valid argument kind sir, just as expected from a console fanboy, allow me to refute it. GO **CK YOURSELF WITH A CACTUS.

Dude whats the Hell is your problem? Its fact, games on console just tend to sell more units. Look at the stats on vgchartz.com

just because some games sell better on consoles doesnt mean they dont make a large income on PC sales.Say a game for xbox makes sales worth 8 mill. Now,say it takes 1 mill to port that same game to pc,and it sells for 4 mill. Now even at half the sales for pc,you would still have 13 mill profit instead of 8 mill should the game was xbox exclusive. And seriously, stop with your effin double posts!!!!!

If its online only which is what its lead to believe since it is a "shared world shooter" There would be no point pirating it because you need to be connected to their servers in order to play. Just my two cents.
-
It was mentioned that you can play solo too. Also you can play some cracked games online or on other servers. I'm sure there are ways around this to play a pirated copy.
-
look, you can play some (i repeat, only some of them) pirated games online, but only on shady, unofficial servers where God knows what could happen (e.g. only hackers and scammers usually populate these servers ).So say someone pirates destiny. IF the game has a solo campaign, then yes, that someone will get a part of the game for free. But thats a big IF and besides, playing just solo gets boring after a while,so that someone will eventually end up buying the game to get the full features. P.S. where was it mentioned that you can play solo in Destiny???
