This OP is the result of people feeling they are "entitled" to things. In fact, it has gotten so far out of hand. People think they are entitled to "love" and "respect." If you want to love and respect OP, you have to work for it. Plain and simple. Nothing comes free in life. Not even human emotion, empathy, and sympathy. One day you'll understand.

This way of thinking is why we're so cynical and hateful as a society.
-
Except it's not cynical, nor hateful. It's just the honest truth. Nobody loves or respects anyone without having the credentials to claim both in the first place.
-
The only credentials we need is our humanity. Love and respect is our birthright.
-
Respect is earned. If you do nothing to deserve respect, then you will not be respected. Simply being human does not entitle you to any form of respect from anyone.
-
See, that's where we disagree.
-
Disagree all you want. Ask anyone about respect, and they'll tell you the same. You must earn respect. It's not just givin to you.
-
Majority opinion doesn't equate rightness.
-
Again, that doesn't matter. Because even those same people who you say we should "love and respect" would not respect those who do not respect them. It's pretty much accepted worldwide, through almost all cultures of the world, by almost every human being, rich or poor that you must earn respect, not expect it to be givin to you.

What strand are you smoking today? This has to be a high-piphany.
-
I wish. I'm dead broke. Haven't been able to smoke since yesterday.
-
Maybe my love and respect can gather enough money to help you get more weed.
