I'm against the in-game advertisements thing. I don't want to be in the middle of the forest, searching for a sign of life, to then run up to a post with a flier on it saying "Buy Razer Controller!" This is set in a post-apocalpytic earth/universe, for there to even be advertisements make no sense at all, who would be advertising to a civilization on the verge of extinction?
+It's visual pollution honestly. I'd rather go with no micro-transactions or anything at all but if there is anything, make it just customization related without hampering on the already in-game customizations options. Honestly, this idea that Bungie has to include something is annoying just because the fact that Bungie has never done that before. With Activision breathing down their necks I hope no micro-transactions or anything related occurs. Give me DLC and I'll purchase it; don't distract me from playing the game with buying micro transactions, because micro-transactions just show that the actual game itself isn't a finished product and if you want the finished product you have to buy in-game downloads that total to 30 dollars in 20 different transactions.
Bungie hasn't done it before, I expect them to not do it again.

As far as I know, or this is the way I've taken it, the civilisation is no longer on the verge of extinction but now is rebuilding? And if it's rebuilding that would imply it's attempting to become what it was before therefore advertising would be a very fitting thing, and if you're going to put in advertising why not make it real and monetise off it? I'm not saying I want in-game advertising, I just think I would prefer it to micro-transactions, as you said, they make the game incomplete and nobody wants that.

What if the posters look destroyed, like the bill boards in Fallout 3?

They would just have to not be a distraction honestly, but something that doesn't catch a players' eye would seem like a pointless investment for a company to advertise in.

I can see the ads blending in well.
