Feelings towards Destiny & Halo

Hey guys! New user here, Destiny looks amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed Halo 4, but I can't shake the feeling that Destiny seems like the game Bungie wanted Halo to be. But Halo is Microsofts kid now. Before any trolls rage, I mean this in the way it seems Bungie has waaay more artistic expression and freedom with this project, something which Halo was striped of. Like what Halo was for Marathon, Destiny is for Halo. I've got high hopes for Bungie and I hope Activism won't do anything to screw this up! Plus now every gamer can enjoy this title!

I personally feel like Bungie has always been aspiring towards making some like this. You can really see it if you look back through their portfolio. To me it always just appeared that whatever they were working on they were "trying" to take it one step further. Whether they succeeded or not is up for debate but for me at least they were always trying. I do agree that it feels like Destiny is something they have subconsciously or not always been working toward. I think they understand the scrutiny they are under and are pushing to deliver. I can only hope they do, because as a gamer all I care about is having a great game.

Halo 4 just about ruined my interest in halo. The halo series was the best gaming imo i liked it's universe , and multplayer. But more importantly i liked the feeling of being complete bad a$$ on the battlefield. EXAMPLE halo 3 when you went up against those 2 scarabs while there was a fire fight on the ground and another in the air that was legendary to me, i have yet to find a game that comes close to having something that memorable. What bungie was capable of doing with the halo series just blew my mind the games kept getting better and better. I was one of those people who defended 343i/ halo 4, but honestly i stopped blinding myself i just don't consider it a good game, i applaud there efforts in trying though. As for bungie/Destiny they seem just as excited, if not more creativly excited for this game then there last. I'm really liking there new engine though, since it says in a article that they've made a new one for over 4 years a multiplatform engine. Besides that though Bungie seems to really be making a game changer , and i'm excited for that. I can not wait to play destiny. As for 343i i may not be apart of the halo series at least not like this new series unfortunatly. Halo was always a guaranteed buy for me cause it always reached my expectations. When halo 4 came out i expected nothing less but great or amazing, i was very indifferent toward the game. When halo 5 comes out ill make sure to rent then decide to buy or not.

      • I can see that. Parts of the original press release for Halo sound more like Destiny than they do like Halo, in restrospect, especially the bits about "complete freedom of movement over open terrain" and "persistent objects" and "cooperative multiplayer". http://rampancy.net/info/articles/halo_brings_action_gamers_a_world_without_end It seems to me that Bungie is putting back things that for whatever reason, never actually made it into Halo. So I'm hoping for composite swords in Destiny. And orbital bombardments.
