I'm confused, won't scotland leaving us basically be them shooting themselves in the foot? They won't be a part of great britain anymore but instead just be scotland-and personally i cannot see them getting all that much overseas investment.

  • The SNP claim they will be the 7th richest country in the world (UK's position) but its mainly the SNP pushing for this. Scotland is like Quebec, they claim they want independence but they don't. They would prefer more powers from London than leave the UK. Except this referendum gives only 2 options, stay in the UK or leave so those who want a 3rd option are forced to pick something they don't want. I imagine most will vote to stay.

  • I think it'd be best for scotland for them to remain a part of the UK yet be given a few more powers from parliament. Although what will they actually gain out of leaving? They already have their own parliament, create their own laws and basically rule themselves, they only answer to a higher power.

  • And don't forget the many benefits they gain from the English tax payer. Its funny to think that Wales, N.Ireland and Scotland all look down on England as a colonial master who treats them badly but yet they so many benefits that the English pay for but can't enjoy. Heck Wales was annexed and yet it has its own government, work that out.
