Now developers have to port to 3 additional platforms? Why not just make it a next gen game?

Because a month or two after the next gen's release the vast majority of the gamers will still be playing on the 360 and PS3. Just look at how long after the 360 and PS3 came out lots of games still got ported to the original xbox and mainly the PS2.

erm i dnt no mayb its bcuz leik 99% of gamors will owna not nxt geen systhem when dat gaem cums out durp durp

Most games that will be launching for next gen seem to also be compatible with the current systems. Probably because it widens the audience to which developers can sell their game to. If they only released the games on the next gen systems, they wouldnt sell nearly as much.

Indeed so, but they'd be superior products. I'm sure of it.

Edited by TJ: 2/22/2013 10:37:46 AMI agree, but the developers need to make money and thats how they will do it. In this economy, many people wont be able to afford the new consoles so the market will be cut drastically. As long as Bungie delivers a solid product, which im sure they will, i will be happy. EDIT: Bungie meant for Destiny. Its late and im tired.
