This may be slightly off topic but how exactly do this type of MMO games work? I've never played a MMO before and I don't understand how all the players can fit into the same virtual world. How do some areas not get over crowded?

Ok. Destiny isn't an MMO, it's the first SWS (shared world shooter). This means that players will seamlessly drop in and drop out of each other's games. So you could be adventuring and meet another player on your adventure. You two are likely the only ones in the game at that moment unless you both have groups. Now, in MMO's like WOW, areas actually do get overcrowded.

Some areas do get over-crowded, certainly capital cities and other hotspots. Generally speaking though, while levelling up everyone ends up spread out naturally as some people level slower than others, some take different routes, dungeons are instanced so say you go in with a group of 5, another group of 5 would be in another version of the same place, like an alternative dimension. I imagine the over crowded places, such as the home tower would be instanced similarly. Automatically matchmaking you with anyone on your friends list, maybe people you've ran into before, similarly skilled, similarly progressed and some random people who you've never met.

I heard it will only bring in a few people at a time.
