If you look closely at the image of the initial three character classes, you might catch something different about the gun in the hands of the Hunter class. Specifically, the barrel.
The barrel of the Hunter's gun is thicker then that of the others and seems to share a similar design with sound suppressors on present day firearms. It even as if the barrel itself isn't a barrel at all, instead some sort of attachment for the weapon.
Is it possible we will have enhanced options for stealth and silent shooting that were mostly absent from Halo? I hope so. The stealthy style of play with precision weapons is my personal approach to most shooters so seeing the new dynamic in Destiny is something that appeals to me.
For now, I can only speculate about the inclusion the inclusion of sound suppressors, but the difference on that barrel is more then a noticable one. Of course, I may just be overanalyzing it d it could simply turn into a muzzle break.
Here's hoping for more stealth options in Destiny!

Well if you have the Exotic Sniper Rifle called Closing Time, its exotic trait allows you to become invisible so perhaps that could add to the entire stealth aspect you're going for. If you wanna be stealthy you'll most likely wanna go with the Hunter class though.

I think it would be great if Destiny had a dedicated skill tree for stealth and something to notify you if you're being spotted like how Skyrim had there sneak abilities and such

1 ReplyI think it would be awesome to have powers like Dishonored's blink and some sort of cloaking in an FPS. I'm a big fan of stealth gameplay- it's the only thing that drags me away from magic fighting!

2 RepliesIt makes me curious as if we'll be able to go prone in this game. It is a feature that I would enjoy seeing.

Cool idea and could enjoy similar features if done right.

13 RepliesSilenced barrels, sound reducing material mods for armor, stealth walking when crotching, and your good ol' invisibility cloak of some sort would be pretty awesome. So long as they don't mix invisibility with any sort of radar jammer this time around.

3 RepliesOh gosh, I really hope so. I want to have stealth options akin to that of Mass Effect's Infiltrator or Crysis, with some sort of cloaking ability (or 'magic spell,' I suppose), and be able to use suppressed or silenced weapons along with that. I was always so disappointed that you couldn't really by stealthy in Halo -- not that you couldn't sneak around enemies, but even in ODST, where your weapons were silenced, it didn't really matter.

4 RepliesI'm imagining that Classes are little more than Armor Abillities 2.0, so we may very well see the Hunter Class equipped with a cloak feature.
