As for Thor, Superman kicked his ass in the JLA/Avengers cross over
Though you're right, I find it's mainly the people who don't know a thing about Superman who insult him, his stories and his "OPness"

And he later went on to state that it could have gone either way and it was a 50/50 chance for both of them. Although IMO Thor should have wrecked him. I guess people just saw the Death Battle result and instantly thought of him as OP, because many considered Goku to be fairly powerful at the time (lel).

I don't remember the 50/50 thing from the comic. How much later on was it?
-
I recall Superman saying he was the strongest he ever fought and the fight could've gone either way. He didn't say 50/50 per se, but he might as well have stated it.
-
Fact of the matter is what Superman says and what Superman does are two different things. However, Thor works on magic, which has the same effect on Superman as anyone else, which means Superman only needs one magical Mjolnir blast to be brought down. Captain Marvel on the other hand is basically Superman without Superman's weaknesses and actually only gets stronger from lightning. Captain Marvel would wreck Thor, but Thor's magic would certainly stop Superman despite their physical match.
-
Actually, magic only passes through his bio electric aura. It still has to break his super dense molecular structure, which is you know, pretty strong considering he's strong enough to bench press planets for 5 days. Without sunlight.

Point being, Captain Marvel is awesome.

Point being, no amount of awesomeness will get you even in the same league as the Batman

-
Point being, yeah.
-
Well Yeah, Goku IS powerful. Given that Goku is literally millions of times stronger than Roshi, was was strong enough to effortlessly destroy the moon. And that's just in Frieza saga.
-
No doubt in his own universe he's powerful, but compared to others he's pretty meh.

Edited by Banned Man 3000: 2/17/2013 2:52:52 PMLet's put this into perspective. You need 1.249x10^29 Joules of force to destroy the moon. Roshi, would have have a PL of around 200 at the time of the moon's destruction. Before I continue, a bit contradictory to what DB states, but Power Levels are the most accurate representation of strength in DBZ. Now, in the Frieza saga the official PL of Goku is 150,000,000. So take 1.249x10^29 and multiply it by 750,000 and you get 9.3675x10^34 Not only that, but there's SSJ2 and SSJ3 so you'd take that number and multiply that by 80, 7.494x10^36 Joules of force And now sure that'll be Goku's Maximum Ki output, remember that they also use their Ki to fight, as stated when Vegeta kicked Cell "What! I put all of my ki into that attack!" And if we took into account the overall total of 11 years of pure training Goku did from teh Frieza saga to the Buu saga, that number would be higher. Hell, from most of the Buu saga to the end, Goku got 400 times stronger, as he matched someone equal to kid buu in base form, something which he did previously at SSJ3, so 2.9976x10^39 is the force is his maximum force of strength Goku would be able to give off in a punch. And then there's GT. Though I'd be more inclined to take what you say more seriously if you had watched DBZ. You're no better than the people you're talking about.
1.249x10^29 Joules of force
*Twitch* I'd make an argument that Superman only really won the crossover because he's the more popular character, not the more powerful.

Edited by Madman Mordo: 2/17/2013 2:56:02 PMI never claimed to be an expert on DBZ, thanks for pointing out what's already known. What I do know however, is the absolute basics of Goku's abilities, and where DBZ stands on the fictional power hierarchy. I also never professed that Goku was weak which you seem to be misconstruing here. What I did claim was, when compared with other universes, Goku and DBZ as a whole, are fairly mid tier in terms of power.
-
But he's still quite strong. Infact, if you take my math as fact, he's literally just under Sun Busting level (You need 2x10^41 joules of force to destroy the sun) by the end of GT.
-
Edited by Madman Mordo: 2/17/2013 3:11:22 PMNot disputing your facts, but is the moon and the Sun in DBZ even comparable in terms of size, to ours? Which I assume you're basing your math on of course.
-
I would assume so.
