Both drives should operate fine, especially since you are planning a clean Win7 install.
The kit appears to consist of brackets, cables, adapters, etc. If you need any of those, the kit may be more convenient.

The MOBO I'm getting has a couple of SATA cables included and my case's bays can accommodate a 2.5" drive. I've heard bad things about included SATA cables though...
