So...it's not okay to say "I need to login."? Is it not a verb in that situation? Like jump and pee in "I need to jump" "I need to pee"?

Some nouns are written in the same way as associated verbs. But in this case, "login" is supposed to be a set of password credentials or whatever. Replace the word "login" with "screenname." This is my screenname. I need to screenname. Login and "log in" do sound the same, but aren't interchangeable, as far as I know.
I need to screenname.
Wat?

I just screennamed all over the place.

Got it. Makes more sense for "I need to log in" than "I need to login."
