The R is top left in my 6-speed (with a collar-pull to enter it), but yes.

MY 914 Reverse is where first usually is. It's a dog leg five speed.

My Saab is a 5-speed, with reverse in the lower right and with a lockout collar.

was your car made by ze germans?

Nein. Ze SRT-team.

oh neat. I actually kind of prefer top left reverse gear. Not that I've ever money-shifted, but with a top left reverse you pretty much never have to worry about it.
-
Mine is a push down then top left. Confuses everybody I know.

On a left-sided driver, it is pretty comfortable and natural feeling. It is a "close gear" meaning it is a lower one, and it is not likely/easy to get into accidentally. Pushing (with my left) to "up and away" to get into reverse would feel... well, it would feel as odd as using my left hand to shift. It would take some adjustment.

Well since im in the UK and being a right side sided driver I need to push down and away from me. It's just like going into 1st (Furthest away) just pushing down first.
