So pretend you are the only survivor in a plane crash. you can crash in the canadian wilderness with a hatchet, and a days worth of food, or in Africa with a jacket, and a small pistol. if you decide to crash in canada, if you dont want the hatchet, and food, you may choose a warm sweater, and a knife. In Africa, you have the choice between the original gear and a fire starting kit with a bow and arrow you use in your backyard, and are a decent shot. Which would you choose if you wanted to survive for as long as possible, and eventully reenter civilization, and how?

4 Replies in this Sub-ThreadCanada, easily. I can handle the cold just fine, and I know how to hunt for food and the general lay of the land for Northern Canada so I'd be set.

I lived in northern Canada for 5 years so yeah, I can handle the cold fine, I know how to hunt, I know how to track, I can make fur coats out of anything I kill if I need to... I know the general layout of the north because I actually payed attention in geography class.

I'm sorry, but those things don't exactly make you a born survivor. Sure the hunting and tracking may come in handy, but what if there's nothing to catch? Do you know of other safe food sources?
